Member-Uganda Updates
November Update
Brethren I received the monthly reports from the two evangelists we provide total financial support. They have been, and every indication they is, will continue to be busy in the Kingdom throughout the rest of this year.
Sikulimba Sedrack who along with Bwamdale Mwero Raymond evangelize in the area of Maliba and both preach at the Maliba church of Christ. Our congregation provides a small sum for Raymond’s support, he receives the rest of his needs from East Valley church of Christ who we coordinate the Bible distribution in Uganda. I follow Raymond on Facebook and saw that on Sunday 11-4-2018 he posted pictures of two baptism at Maliba.
Sedrack’s report indicated that he and Raymond have been very busy this last month, going home to home, with one on one contacts for opportunities to preach. He reported no baptisms in October, but as I wrote above November started off with a bang.
In regards to their edification program, he reported that both are involved in an organized teaching program. Sedrack has been teaching about “ the possibility of apostasy”, while Raymond has been handling the topic of “ heeding God’s commands”. They plan to continue these two subjects for the next three to four months.
Their plans for the months of November and December are to intensify evangelism in the Maliba area. He also advised they are putting in a floor in their meeting place, which before consisted of dirt, with a lot of dust on Sunday meeting days.
In the month of January, Maliba will join other congregations in a three week gospel campaign, which will include home to home contacts in a number of areas in Uganda. It will also include daily preaching in open areas during the afternoons. They did a similar campaign last May where 17 were baptized and added to the Kingdom.
He concluded his report with their appreciation of our love and support, in both funds and the materials we provide them with, I believe he references the audio system we sent them funds for, which will eliminate them needing to rent such equipment in the January campaign. He concluded with these words; ‘our work continues to be easy and every time because you are on our side to support us. May the Almighty God bless you richly’.
The report from Simon Odongo, who we support totally, gave an account of the Sunday teaching of 10-28-18 was on ‘church leadership’ challenging the men at Soroti church of Christ to recognize their leadership abilities.
He advised that in the month of October there were several bible classes along with door to door contacts and group studies the result of such contacts. He provided five photos of such classes with his handing out bibles to prospects. He further advised of daily teaching to both the men and women of Soroti, challenging them to turn from their sins and live faithfully for God.
As we can see there is a lot of good work being done in Uganda, and it should encourage our congregation to use the Uganda brethren as our example of working in the vineyard of God.
