I Believe You

Genesis 15 and Rom 4:18 Our faith or our trust that Jesus was raised from the dead

What evidence did Abram have for believing God, naturally?  God says some crazy stuff.  He says some stuff that blows our minds-- and naturally speaking if you were to use the natural sciences you could never ever prove the things that God was talking about like: creation being spoken into existence... resurrection-- you can't prove that a dead body can come back to life, the miracle narratives, the spritual realm called heaven or hell, or spiritual beings called angels exist.  These are things that you cannot prove naturally,... there's no reason to believe it.  So why does Abraham actually let his mind go... to the direction of believing?  Because of Who told him.  It's less about the promise, but more about Who is doing the promising.  There's so many things about our faith, things we are told that we have no reason to believe based on natural sciences, just like Abram, but we believe because of Who gives the information.  Paul cites this instance and talks about our belief in Jesus' ressurection.

Rom 4:23-25 But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

What evidence does Abram have that he was going to have a biological son?  What evidence do you have, naturally, that Someone's death was for your sins?  What evidence do you have, naturally, that People who are dead can be alive on the third day.  The common theme is Who told us?
